Giselle Diaz

Thank you to all my family, friends, colleagues and participants in attendance of the celebration sponsored by the Puerto Rican Heritage Society in honor of 30 years of service in the San Antonio Community held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. I’m really honored to have been commissioned the front cover of the PRHS’s 30th Anniversary publication. The ceremony and the unveiling of the oil painting “La Perla del Caribe” were the highlights of such a lovely evening.

The Puerto Rican Heritage Society (Sociedad Herencia Puertorriqueña) graciously hosted the event at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio where members, artists portrayed in the publication and sponsors were presented with a copy of the historic publication. I will always love and cherish this memories. Giselle Diaz

30 Year "Pearl" Anniversary

Title: La Perla del Caribe

The Puerto Rican Heritage Society (Sociedad Herencia Puertorriqueña) is a 501(c3) non-profit organization founded in San Antonio with the objective to promote and maintain the Puerto Rican culture and traditions alive in this city. Puerto Ricans are the second Spanish-speaking group in San Antonio after the Mexicans. This year is particularly significant as our organization celebrates its 30th Anniversary of continuous service to the San Antonio community through a variety of cultural and educational events, as well as through our scholarship program. For this occasion, the organization is putting together a commemorative publication of about 60 pages that will reach our members as well as other groups. This type of publication is published every 10 years to document our contribution to the cultural myriad of San Antonio.
